The High Point Furniture Market is the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world. Happening twice a year, the market brings together more than 75,000 people to High Point, North Carolina for every show.
Featuring hundreds of craftsmen, artisans and manufacturers, the Market’s motto is, “if you can’t find it at High Point, it probably doesn’t exist.”
The Tampa Bay Furnishings crew visited High Point to see what’s the latest in cutting edge furniture trends and style. Here’s our takeaway from the experience as well as what you’ll be seeing more of in our St. Pete showroom in the coming weeks...
Distressed and Reclaimed: The New Vintage in Furniture Trends
Imbue your home with the classic spirit. Hardwood table tops were ubiquitous at the market. From dining, to cocktails setups, companies are pushing the classic, solid tops.
Rustic and craftsmen-style pieces define the new aesthetic in furniture design.
Light blue accents and walls, in contrast, maintain an early 50’s feel. This mix between the industrial and the nostalgic create a quaint and free energy in the home.
Wall decorations were statement makers at this year’s market.
Continuing the theme of “natural” when it comes to table tops, wicker baskets, stone slabs, bronze statues and acorn colored vases sat on every table we passed.
Our advice, buy what you love! As opposed to buying excessive sets of chairs to match your table, table to match the paint, paint to match the art that covers every square inch of the room, keep it simple. Breathing room is key in furnishing your home.
Call or stop by the Tampa Bay Furnishings to catch a glimpse of these new arrivals hitting our St. Pete, FL showroom over the next few weeks!
