TBF Spotlight: Meet Michelle

If you've heard about Tampa Bay Furnishings, then it's most likely because of Michelle Turpeau. Since the summer of 2017, she has been spreading the word on how Tampa Bay Furnishings brings out YOUR style. She has also started out as one of our clients. So how did she go from being another happy customer to becoming our Marketing Director?

Michelle had known Shawn and Sondra Hannan for about two years through her boyfriend Kevin. So naturally, the couple went to Tampa Bay Furnishings to decorate their new home. They both had known about the wide selection of great, quality furniture the store offered. What they didn't know was that they also had their own interior designer.

"When Lydia and I met, we just clicked", says Michelle. Lydia Mason, interior designer and mother of Sondra Hannan, worked with Michelle, Kevin and her kids to ensure they felt at home in their new place. Michelle was so impressed by how well Tampa Bay Furnishings was able to cater to everyone's style, that she thought more people needed to know about the store.

At the time, Tampa Bay Furnishings had only been around for about 2 years. Shawn and Sondra Hannan were looking for a person to go "out in the field" to expand their business. Who could be better to spread the news about Tampa Bay Furnishings than someone who has experienced their services first-hand?

When Michelle joined the team, she knew that she found her niche. She enjoyed working with Lydia, the small family owned business concept, and how much Tampa Bay Furnishings is involved with the community.

One of Michelle's favorite parts about working at Tampa Bay Furnishings is there's never an average day. Sometimes she is out meeting with clients, networking at events, or maybe helping out in the store. To her, meeting people and seeing her work come to fruition is the best part about her job.

Michelle is also an active member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, Working Woman of Tampa Bay and MLK Business District, which are all dedicated to enriching the place she's called home for the last 10 years.

Aside from her professional life, Michelle is a proud mother of two beautiful daughters. She has a love for dancing, the outdoors, and the beach. Growing up in Puerto Rico, she used to enjoy surfing and now she enjoys paddle boarding and kayaking along the Gulf Coast. Some of her favorite spots around St. Pete include Lolita's Wine Market, The Canopy and the many restaurants along Beach Drive.

As for Michelle's own style, she describes it as, "contemporary with a touch of glamour."
