Our in-house design team loves working with clients to capture their style. Every step of the way, the design team and our clients communicate through a variety of methods – in-person, online and on the phone – to ensure they’re all in agreement about the design direction.  The design process can be divided into five easy steps, from first consultation to final walk-through.

Step 1: The Consultation

You can request a consultation on our website, via phone or in the store. Our design team will view your home in person or via an online meeting to get to know you and your style. This can involve asking you questions about your lifestyle and your favorite colors, looking at your artwork and furnishings and reviewing any inspirational Pinterest boards you may have set up. We will also take measurements and photos of each wall in the room or rooms that we will be decorating. You can hire us to furnish your entire house, one room or even a partial room where you need to replace or supplement existing furniture.


Step 2: The Initial Rendering

We then create a scaled drawing of each room showing some optional furniture arrangements. Many times, we present a few layouts to depict different ways to use the space.  In this sample rendering, you can see how the furniture, plants and artwork in the space will fit together in the room.

You will receive a rendering like this for every room we’re decorating. You will have the opportunity to provide your feedback about the furniture types and placement in this step. Once you have approved the basic layout, step three can start.

Step 3: Shopping and The Second Rendering

The design team moves forward from step two by shopping for the furnishings, accessories, rugs, and artwork for your project. We create renderings of each room to show you ideas of how your room could look. Photos of the furnishings are shown in the rendering and sometimes even the fabric samples can be included. As you can see, the rendering almost looks like a finished room.

 

Collecting your input at this step is easy. You can make comments within the program on each item, and all the items are all listed below the rendering with their prices. You can indicate whether you want us to buy the item or decline it. The chances for miscommunication will be greatly reduced this way, and it’s fun to see your rooms start to come to life.

Step 4: The Order Placement

In step four, our design team orders the furnishings that you have selected. The ordering can be done in phases, especially if there are custom pieces that may take longer to arrive. We will place the order according to what will work best for you. Once all items have arrived at the warehouse, delivery and installation will be scheduled.

Step 5: The Final Walk-through

After all of the furnishings have been delivered and installed, our designer will come to your house to do a final walk-through of each room with you and celebrate your successful collaboration.
